Production Supervisor - Machine Shop

Summary:
Watteredge, a Southwire Company, is currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor responsible for ensuring machining operations meets SQDCI (safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory) deliverables.
Manages daily operations to include giving work assignments, troubleshooting production problems, reinforces safety, drives process improvement and 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
Demonstrates proficient machining, troubleshooting, and communication.
Identifies and corrects machining problems relative to tools and tool holders, collets and chucks.
Utilizes ADP to track and record time for payroll purposes.

This individual should have a general awareness of the overall business and be able to recognize the need for and escalate process improvements to standard work that reduces cost and improves quality and on-time delivery.
Will interact with cross-functional teams, coach and mentor CNC machinists/operators, and general assemblers.
Will troubleshoot production problems relating to tooling, equipment, and processes; ensure adherence to policies and procedures regarding non-conforming material; assist with capacity planning and new production development work.
Requirements/Competencies:
5
years of machining background, CNC programming a plus - fabrication knowledge
Basic computer knowledge, Experience using an ERP system desirable.
Ability to troubleshoot; read blueprints,
Direct and assist others in completing work in a timely manner.
Anticipate internal/external customer needs and initiate action to meet and/or exceed expectations.
Drives process improvements - meets quality and plant metrics
Supports organizational changes positively through actions and words.
Flexibility - will change hours to meet organizational/customer demands.
Drives activities to increase employee morale and team spirit
Communicates across departments and at all levels (shop, office, engineering, sales, managers)
Drives team goals and focuses on SQDCI.
Takes ownership and pride of department.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Considerable standing, stooping and bending is required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
