INVENTORY CLERK AND MATERIAL HANDLER
JOB
Summary: Receives and records incoming materials, keeps accurate purchasing records, accounts for all inventoried items and supports all departments with materials as needed according to the standards of the Purchasing and Materials Department, which will assure timely manufacturing of products to customer specifications.
DUTIES:
Creates accurate and timely receiving, purchasing and inventory records
Complete weekly, quarterly, and year-end physical inventories
Replenish departmental inventories as needed
Organize and deliver wood materials, dimension and sheet stock, to cutting machines; upcut saws, CNC and beam saw
Pick up and distribute to designated areas, materials that have been cut at the cutting sites
Receive materials and maintain appropriate records
Maintain appropriate materials inventory levels
Assures that inventory items are properly labeled, stored, and in their proper locations
Contact vendors as needed and report results to Purchasing Manager
Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks
Completes daily preventative maintenance of equipment assigned to the department s use
Assists in training and/or interacting with team members to help meet established goals and standards
Assures that the work area and aisles the Store Room are kept clean and free of debris during work hours
Requires leaving a clean work area at the end of the shift
Other duties that may be assigned on an as-required basis

Follows procedures detailed in the Company Handbook and in other documents
Demonstrates a professional attitude when approaching work assignments
Displays an awareness to maximize the utilization of materials and to minimize waste of materials
Displays a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks
Assists in developing solutions to problems
Assures the quality of work produced is acceptable to company standards and specifications
Performs job tasks with Worker Safety Being The Priority
Maintains outstanding attendance
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Ability to read, possess basic math skills, interpret job orders and understand specifications
Have knowledge of materials and processes that relate to the company s products
Capable of learning new skills as needed
Must be detail oriented and capable of working independently without direct supervision
Physically capable of lifting heavy objects throughout the workday
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the Purchasing Manager
Works closely with the Production Manager and craftsmen
