Senior Windows VMware Engineer/Architect
Permanent Full time role
Prestigious Enterprise Company is currently seeking a Sr. Windows VMware Engineer, preferably with some design and architecture experience. Candidate will work with the corporate Platform Engineering Team to design, deploy and support technologies in the Windows Server and VMware verticals. A deep and thorough understanding of the design and management of Active Directory, inclusive of its architecture, group policies, site and connection objects, as well as management via PowerShell are absolute requirements. In addition to Microsoft server operating systems, the candidate should be well versed in the configuration, support and backup strategies of VMware.
Candidate will have strong experience supporting IT infrastructure, with emphasis on:

- Troubleshooting
- Advanced PowerShell Scripting
- Process Automation
- Inventory Management
- Windows Server 2008 & 2012 Operating System
- Support and Performance Troubleshooting
- VMware Configuration, Deployment, Upgrades, Troubleshooting, and Performance Analysis
- Veeam Backup and Replication
- Backup to Disk Processing
- Offsite Replication
- Veeam One Monitoring and Reporting
- System Center Operations Manager
- MP Authoring and MP Tuning
- Common Server Services such as TCP/IP, DNS, Backup and Recovery
- Microsoft Azure Site Recovery or Virtual Deployments
Qualifications:
Must be a self-starter demonstrating the willingness to address/resolve ambiguity and conflict within complex business change projects.
Promote and follow prescribed project management guidelines for projects
Maintain documentation for all operational/support processes for the systems supported by the Platform Team; automate repetitive processes where appropriate
Define/refine sustainable, relevant metrics that demonstrate system availability, transaction/work throughput, business benefits achieved, and/or quality improvement
Stay current with new technologies and techniques as appropriate
BS/BA in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field or the equivalent work experience.
Minimum 7 to 10 years of related work experience including solid exposure to enterprise architecture
Exemplary, demonstrated self-starting skills
Expert level knowledge of applications and systems development tools and methods.
Strong oral and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate at different levels of the organization
Experience in managing and leading virtual, cross-functional teams including requirements definition, design documentation, project plans and solution delivery

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
