Child Care Classroom Assistant
Job Description
The University of Utah Farmington Health Center offers a full range of medical services for families. This center is conveniently located in Farmington, Utah. FHC in collaboration with The UofU Center for Child Care and Family Resources is seeking to hire qualified child care providers for their drop-in child care facility.
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED OFF CAMPUS IN FARMINGTON, UTAH
Part-time child care provider
Care for children ages 18 months through 8 years of age in a drop-in child care environment in the FHC
Responsibilities
Supervises and monitors the safety of children in their care
Helps the children experience success in physical, social and intellectual tasks
Directly communicates with parents concerning children s care
Assists children in activities and tasks which contributes to an orderly, clean environment
Keeps accurate records of client s program usage
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
This is an entry-level position. Training will be provided.
Must be able to lift small children (25 50 lbs.)
Must be able to carry small children in arms for short distances
Must be able to move about on hands and knees and sit on the floor with children
Demonstrate effective communication with professionals, parents and children
Must demonstrate an ability to work independently but show a willingness to take direction from the supervisor
Must be warm, energetic and enjoy working with young children (18 months to 8 years of age)
Must have an interest in learning about child development and guidance
Must pass a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) background check
Must be willing to obtain a food handlers permit, TB test, and first aid training
Must be 18 years old
Must be able to complete the essential duties of the job
