Norgate Technology, Inc. in Garden City, NY has multiple openings for Cognos Developers to create catalogs to define connections to source and target data, and perform basic administration for catalog. Individuals will apply advanced theoretical knowledge of Computer Science and Engineering principles and concepts, as well as experience using Cognos development tools, to assist project managers and to perform the following job duties:
Responsible for the complete range of BI capabilities including reporting, analysis, score carding, dashboards and business event management. Create hierarchies/dimension builds using the Dimension Build wizard, fact builds using the Fact Build wizard, document catalog, and create catalog schemas. Design conformed dimensions, data integrity lookups that use conformed dimensions and Customize Reference Structures. Preserve and process historical ensional data by using surrogate keys in SCD's. Customize Data Delivery by creating indexes on fact and dimension tables. Process Late Arriving Facts by creating a lookup for late arriving facts. Customize Fact Data Processing by fact data integrity checking. Define data sources and their associated connections in COGNOS Connection. Develop Framework Manager Models with 3 layer Architecture including Database Layer, Logical Layer and Business Layer to cater to various business needs. Apply best practices on the Framework Manger models to refine and fine tune the models and provide best practices for day to day operations, performance analysis, tuning and capacity planning. Develop and Design Chart reports, List reports, Cross Tab reports, Master Detail Reports, Drill through Reports, Drill down Reports in Report studio according to business requirements. Migrate Cognos Reports, Cubes, and Security to Cognos 10 onto a new server and domain with minimal downtime and ahead of schedule. Develop hiding functionalities and provide optional prompts and passing parameters to prompts, dynamically sorting columns using JavaScript. Create batch jobs for different sets of reports and schedule them through table sensitive trigger and provide output of these reports as a file link on to users email. Design Power cubes in Transformer 8.4.1 sourcing data items from IQD's and packages. Develop drill through reports from cubes using drill-through definitions. Use internal Bug tracker to monitor, update, track, resolve and close cases/tickets assigned to BI support. Co-facilitate client workshops and training, typically small to medium groups of clients.
REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or three years of experience in any position providing the required skills and ability. In lieu of the stated primary education and experience requirements, employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field of study, plus five (5) years of post-degree, progressive and related experience that provided the required skills and abilities. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. The term suitable, in this context, means substantial compatibility with stated academic level and job experience requirements and ability to perform job duties.

Travel: No travel; no telecommuting. Job duties are project-based and performed on long-term assignments at various unanticipated sites within the United States which may require relocation at the end of each project.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
