Norgate Technology, Inc. in Garden City, NY has multiple openings for Java Developers to complete programming using languages and software products such as Java, J2EE using APIs, JavaScript, Web Services and PL/SQL packages. Individuals will apply advanced theoretical knowledge of Computer Science and Engineering principles and concepts, as well as experience using Java/J2EE development tools, to assist project managers and to perform the following job duties:
Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements, envisioning system features and functionality. Design and develop user interfaces to internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and feature priorities throughout development life cycle, determining design methodologies and tool sets. Integrate applications by designing database architecture and server scripting, studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers. Complete applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities. Provide analysis of design, software requirements, software development processes, and Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or three years of experience in any position providing the required skills and ability. In lieu of the stated primary education and experience requirements, employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field of study, plus five (5) years of post-degree, progressive and related experience that provided the required skills and abilities. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. The term suitable, in this context, means substantial compatibility with stated academic level and job experience requirements and ability to perform job duties.

Travel: No travel; no telecommuting. Job duties are project-based and performed on long-term assignments at various unanticipated sites within the United States which may require relocation at the end of each project.
