IAC Search & Media has a Market Research Analyst (SEM Search Engine Marketing Analyst) opening in Oakland, CA.
Help understand how keyword characteristics, seasonal trends, and other factors impact company portfolio performance and bidding systems in order to maximize Return On Investment (ROI). Help maintain revenue growth. Use Data Driven and PPC management systems and the SEM business model. Work on a large, complex data sets to drive business decisions. Work with diverse statistical / analytical methods. Summarize complex findings into concise, deliverable results. Communicate findings clearly and concisely and conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Report on keyword portfolio performance. Build keyword performance and customer behavioral models using statistical and non-statistical methods. Investigate and model the impact of systemic and seasonal factors on portfolio performance. Design new algorithms of portfolio bidding, keyword clustering, and performance prediction. Drive innovation in applying data mining and statistical modeling in our bidding and keyword valuation systems to successfully meet ROI and team goals. Work with portfolio managers to understand business requirements and processes and maintain a team-oriented approach in all efforts to optimize performance for various business segments. Communicate statistical findings clearly and concisely, with consideration for differing levels of statistical knowledge in your audience
Requirements: Masters in Marketing, Statistics, Finance or related field and 24 months experience in job offered or analyst related occupation.
Experience must include:
1. Experience in data mining, computational statistics, PPC management
2. Experience with lead generation, performance marketing, web analytics, pattern recognition, and financial modeling for trading and risk management.
3. Statistical experience should include: translating complex statistical results to actionable business recommendations.
4. Experience in diverse methods of regression/correlation analysis
5. Parametric and non-parametric inferential statistical methods
6. Preparing large data sets for statistical analysis (e.g., identifying outliers, variable transformation, etc.)
7. Experience making assumptions underlying statistical analysis and identifying and correcting data issues prior to analysis.
8. Experience with R and scripts: SQL or Perl.
9. Hands on experience in dealing with large, complex data sets.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
