LPC Healthcare Recruiting Solutions, has partnered with a valued client here in the Chicagoland area to search for an experienced MDS Consultant. We are seeking a well experienced Corporate MDS Nurse Coordinator with at least 5 years current experience. Coordinator will have to be willing to travel an average of 1 outside of Chicago (this is a must) for business.The MDS Nurse will handle the coordination of patient assessment, as well as care planning to provide the highest quality of care, which is an MDS coordinator's most important function. This includes overseeing the assessment process, preparing assessment schedules and ensuring assessments and care plans are done accurately and in a timely manner. Also making sure they are compliant with current regulations, which may have the potential to change each year. The MDS Coordinator's are the decision makers on patient assessments and care plans. They prepare, file and track electronic paperwork submissions including required Medicare documentation.
Because the MDS coordinator works extensively with the patient information system, they may be responsible for coordinating and educating clinical staff members regarding proper use of the system. It may also be required to perform nursing functions as needed. You will also be working in collaboration with other staff members, and running care plan assessment meetings.
Requirements:
oCurrent IL licensure as a RN or a LPN
oMDS Certification
oCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
oSuperior written and Excellent verbal communication skills are key
oSupervision and Leadership with Critical Thinking Skills
oHas experience in Time Management and Delegation
oKnowledge of nursing policies and procedures and proper terminology
