The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating end-user documentation in accordance with the companys standards. The successful candidate will work with subject matter experts to create operating manuals, user guides, quick reference material, application and technical notes, etc. The position requires following documents from initiation to publication.
Responsibilities
Review, rewrite, edit and assist in the development of documents being prepared by others, in accordance with company grammar and design standards.
Work with translation agency to create technical documents in assigned languages.
Keep procedures and work instructions up-to-date and in accordance with ISO9001 guidelines.
Maintain project source files and records of work and revisions.
Maintain the company grammar standards.
Keep abreast of new technologies that would facilitate the development of technical documentation and support the companys strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelors of Science Degree in technical communication, English or other technical discipline.
Minimum 2 years of technical writing experience.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with members from a variety of business functions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, as well as exceptional proofreading abilities.
Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, technical environment.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Must be focused on scheduled and project deadlines.
Proficient in FrameMaker and Adobe Creative Suite.
Understanding of structured authoring a plus.
