The PKI Engineer will be responsible for the following:
As part of the IAM team, the PKI Engineer will assist in the, implementation, operation, maintenance and support of mission critical Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services.
The candidate will administer existing PKI while developing and implementing a new enterprise PKI service that supports IT infrastructure devices for network access control and other federal IT and cyber security functions.
Assist in the administration and support of the mission critical PKI infrastructure.
The PKI Engineer must have the following skills:
Operate a PKI for the issuance of non-person end entity certificates including:
o Management of internal web sites hosting CRLs
o Microsoft Active Directory domain controllers
o Client systems running Microsoft Windows, MacOS, nix as well as mobile devices running iOS, Android
Interact with various engineering, IT staff to monitor, troubleshoot and maintain the PKI service.
Respond to PKI related service tickets and requests.
Evaluate upgrades and new products in a lab environment for both the PKI infrastructure.
Participate in projects to deploy new PKI services and applications.
Assist in the development of and updates to PKI documentation.
Provide on call support for AD and PKI services.
Juggle multiple high profile, high impact projects effectively and efficiently while being able to monitor for, and respond to, new issues and requests.
Assist with the day-to-day administration and support for Active Directory in a complex, decentralized enterprise environment. that includes Unix, Windows, Linux and mobile platforms (running iOS, Android), etc.
The PKI Engineer must meet the following
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and Secret Clearance
Experience with Certificate Authority administration running Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services
Experience with Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP)
Creation, maintenance and management of certificate templates
Experience with Hardware Security Module (HSM) technologies
Experience architecting, deploying, and migrating Certificate Authority infrastructure.
Experience and/or knowledge in administration of Active Directory in a large enterprise environment.
Experience and/or knowledge with non-Windows platforms, such as Mac OS & Linux and/or Unix.
Experience supporting smart card authentication, preferably in an enterprise environment.
Knowledge of 802.1x, Kerberos, VPN, Group Policy, x.509, Windows Crypto-API (CAPI), FIPS & IPSec.
Microsoft cloud services, e.g., Microsoft Azure AD, and Office 365 tenant administration experience is a plus.ADFS experience; creating and editing authentication claims is a plus
Excellent written and oral communication.
