UX Engineer needed for long term project work. Client Company is stable, and growing.
Due to the nature of the interview process, local candidates with local experience only please (Local = San Francisco Bay Area)
A talented UX engineer is needed to work on ongoing projects with our Client's System Management team. As a User Experience/Interaction Designer, you will build delightful, polished products that excite IT administrators. Your work will involve designing interfaces that solve complex interactions with elegance and simplicity. You can tell compelling stories about IT administrators to support your work.
Responsibilities:
Take ownership of product user experience, designing the interactions and interfaces.
Passionately advocate for IT administrators by influencing design decisions to ensure alignment with user needs.
Conduct user experience research, identify and sketch out key scenarios, iterate through increasing detailed scenarios.
Develop UX design specifications for system management across a cluster of storage appliances and hypervisors.
Lead regular design reviews, and conduct usability tests to verify design choices.
Communicate design intent to internal and external teams. Clearly represent the design work and advocate for users' needs. Collaborate with the cross functional team to select appropriate design solutions.
Create documentation that enables software developers to build software that fosters a delightful user experience.
Follow through on implemented details to ensure fit-and-finish polish
Qualifications:
MA or MS in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or equivalent practical experience.
6-8 years of experience as a professional UX designer with knowledge of user-centered design methodologies and a good understanding of usability.
Have an eye for detail and skilled in silky smooth UI experiences
Experience designing for IT administrators.
Competency with HTML5 and CSS.
Good sense and understanding visual design.
Experience designing for multiple device types (desktop, mobile).
Prior experience in Storage, Networks.
