The HT Group is hiring a Contract Production Planner for a manufacturing company in Georgetown.
Skills must include one or more of the following:
o Planner
o Master scheduler
o Production control, and/or
o Configuration management (for manufacturing)
This is a contract position for 6 months- 1 year Monday-Friday 8-5 with possible overtime and weekends.
SAP or any other MRP/ERP experience is a PLUS!
General Duties:
Under the general supervision of Materials Manager, coordinates, strategically plans, and initiates all production work orders based on customer requirements, forecasts, or other factors. Troubleshoots exceptions that occur in the MRP and other systems and resolves them with the appropriate personnel.
Responsible to assist in all areas of the Materials Organization including Procurement, Planning, Production Control expediting, Inventory, and Shipping/Receiving to support the Division. Must have the ability to use sophisticated MRP systems to determine the proper actions to take to achieve the necessary results.
Job Duties:
Process MRP action reports and production planning reports from a sophisticated ERP/MRP system in a manner that will ensure timely materials and documentation delivery to Inventory/Production in support of the production plan.
Responsible for administration of Planning Department ISO compliance and auditing as required.
Responsible for auditing of consigned inventory transactions and troubleshooting.
Coordinates MRP meetings.
Participate in Sales, Operations, and Production forecast meetings.
Determines appropriate commitment dates for Sales to Customers.
Coordinates scheduling of production work orders start and due dates.
Provide weekly management updates related to Production Work order and Planning status.
Create and maintain a process of planning, auditing and troubleshooting APC and consignment inventory.
Responsible for training new employees on issues related to Inventory Control, MRP, Work Order, and other process concepts.
Responsible to develop tools to maximize productivity and efficiency in regards to Production Planning, Forecast consumption, Forecast Accuracy, Work Order Processing, and other appropriated production/Planning Processes.
Interface with Purchasing, Operations, Engineering, Accounting, and Sales departments.
Required Skills:
Understanding of Inventory Control guidelines and procedures, Production Planning techniques, expediting regiments and the ability to effectively interface with the entire Materials and Operations organizations.
Understand the dynamics and the workflow process of consignment and formal inventory.
Strong computer skills with proficiency utilizing programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Logical thinking, high analytical capability, and the ability to deal with advanced mathematical calculations.
Ability to efficiently, clearly, and professionally communicate by both verbal and written English.
Use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines and proper etiquette as directed.
4 year degree preferred
Must have a clear background check.
