General Accountant II - General Accountant II
The General Accountant II is responsible for assisting with general ledger management, account reconciliations, capital lease and fixed asset management, collections, staff training, and various projects assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Preparing journal entries
o Reconciling and balancing various general ledger accounts
o Research and correct account discrepancies
o Assist Accounting Manager with preparation and review of monthly financial statements
o Assist Accounting Manager with financial statement analysis looking for inconsistencies,
errors and trends
o Participate in financial analysis for annual budgets and forecasts, capital and lease plans, long
range plans and management reports
o Manage capital leases and associated schedules
o Maintain various schedules/spreadsheets
o Confer with customers by telephone, email and mailings in an attempt to determine reason
for overdue payment, reviewing terms of sales, service, or credit contract with customer
o Record information about financial status of customer and status of collection efforts
o Research and resolve billing disputes
o Place customers on credit hold
o Answer inquiries from customers, branches, and customer support department
o Email requested invoices and statements to customers
o Look for ways to automate or streamline department workflows via NetSuite or other
mechanisms
o Perform various other tasks as assigned
o Set an example that can be followed by other accounting team members (Productivity,
professionalism, attitude)
Education and/or
Experience:
o Bachelor's degree in Accounting and minimum 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
