The
ADAS Design Engineer
position is in Intelligent Vehicle Systems (IVS) Department located at our Saline, MI campus.
Intelligent Vehicle Systems is responsible for development, evaluation and deployment of Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS). Driver Assist Systems include Automatic Emergency braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive High beam, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Backup Guide Monitor, 360 view Camera and, Sonar based Parking Assist systems. IVS Group 3's mission is to deploy ADAS into Mass Production vehicles.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Design/Packaging studies, including layout drawing making using CATIA-V5. Issue Toyota and Approval drawings
Simultaneous Engineering development on multiple vehicles/platforms with internal and external stakeholders; Lead/support/participate in Technical reviews
Plan and manage the development of parts/systems through collaboration with stakeholders
Warranty/Fieldissues - Track issues, investigate root cause, develop counter-measures, implement effective solutions
Manage cost and mass for responsible parts/systems and report out as necessary
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for parts development, Check sheets for Design and Evaluation protocols
Develop Parts/Systems for vehicle deployment through simultaneous Engineering
Identify and assess next generation Driving Assist systems through bench marking activities including static and dynamic vehicle level evaluations
Qualifications
Required
Bachelors Degree in an Engineering Discipline
Design experience with Body sheet metal, Exterior/Interior Trim parts
Proficient in CATIA V5
Experience planning and developing detailed schedules
Preferred
Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience in Vehicle development
Automotive Electrical/Body parts testing
Hands-on experience with vehicle tuning, repair, or performance enhancements
CAN communication, sensor calibration
Software development (C, HTML, etc.)

Toyota Technical Center (TTC) is a division of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, North America Inc., established in 1977.TTC's Michigan R&D facilities are located in Ann Arbor, Saline, Plymouth and Livonia. In addition, TTC has testing facilities in Torrance and Gardena, California and a 10-mile oval test track in Wittmann, Arizona.
TTC is engaged in engineering design, prototype building, vehicle evaluation and engineering, materials engineering, powertrain tuning and design, safety/crashworthiness, regulatory affairs and advanced research. TTC has development responsibility for the Avalon, Camry, RAV4 EV, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra and Venza.

This position is currently located in Saline, MI and is not scheduled to be relocated.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
