Now on a fast-track growth trajectory, SJMH is working with the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) to develop a long-term plan for providing regional healthcare services under the auspices of UR Medicine. Support from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) is key to the plan's success. To date, SJMH has secured over $18.2M in funds from the state to sustain and redesign healthcare in Hornell, and a $36M request to construct state-of-the-art facility to house the new Hornell Medical Village.

Summary:
Utilizing extensive knowledge in medical/surgical nursing, provides overall supervision and coordination of operations and programs within the unit, as well as acts as a mentor and interacts and directs the staff. Performs complex and varied tasks requiring independent knowledge, its application to a variety of situations, as well as exercise of independent judgment. Responsible for performance improvement and utilization review.

Quality Patient Care and Safe Environment
Accountable for the patient safety and outcomes of care delivered on the unit.
Accountable for the implementation of appropriate Nursing Standards of clinical care.
Accountable to assure the completion of holistic nursing care delivery which includes establishing the partnership between patients, families and care providers.
Provides oversight and ensure completion of appropriate professional nursing documentation for each staff member on the unit.
Provides individual care on a specific cohort of patients as determined by acuity and population when working on the unit in the capacity of a care provider.
Ensures the delivery of organized and concise patient related reporting/communication to physicians and assigned clinicians by each professional nursing staff member providing direct care on the unit.
Communicates with patients, families/significant others and members of the healthcare team regarding clinical care needs and issues related to the well-being of the patient.
Makes walking rounds during the shift to supervise and monitor work performance in terms of patient care, staff regulations and efficiency of service.
Assists and guides nursing staff in administering new procedures and protocols.
Collaborates with medical staff to ensure patients progress towards meeting goals.
Assists with staffing and scheduling to meet 100% productivity as needed.
Coordinates transfer of patients within the facility or to another facility as required.
Team that Consistently Delivers
Provides day-to-day direction to staff and coordinates workflow within the work unit; including distributing work, disseminating information, assigning staff to cover for absences, providing technical assistance, answering questions and resolving problems. Ensures work is scheduled effectively, and checkpoints and controls are set for monitoring.
Assigns patients to qualified nursing staff to ensure that patient care needs are met in the best possible manner.
Assists the Supervisor with orientation, supervision and evaluation of clinical staff. Ensures new hires are knowledgeable of policies, work rules, job responsibilities and other information necessary for successful performance.
Counsels employees and reports to Supervisor concerns or disciplinary action as necessary with appropriate documentation.
Assesses staff performance and identifies content and skill educational needs of each staff member.
Ensures an affective learning environment by coaching employees, orchestrating learning opportunities, and providing relevant, high-impact feedback.
Provides employees with current, direct complete and actionable positive and corrective feedback. Documents employee performance issues.
Addresses conflict within the team and facilitates an effective resolution.
Position Qualifications

Education & Experience
BSN required, or 3-5 years nursing supervisory experience.
Licenses and/or Certifications
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in New York State
Basic Life Support Certification
Med/Surg nursing certification desired

Demonstrated competence in assessing, designing, delivering and evaluating of holistic patient care.
Physical Demands: Ability to move or transfer patients with an individual effort equal to 50 lbs. Nurses should have a full range of body motion to successfully perform all essential functions of the job, meaning you'll have to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch and reach frequently during shift.
Mental Demands: Ability to function during stressful medical emergencies calmly and efficiently. Ability to plan and revise care of the patient according to their needs.
Interactions: Internal and external customers, Physicians and co-workers.
Working Conditions: Potential for exposure to infectious pathogens, physical hazards, cold or heated conditions. Personal protective equipment is available to all team members. Hours of work may vary, on call is required.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
