About the opportunity:
Do you thrive in the pursuit of ensuring excellence in environmental consulting services for your clients? SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work.
We are seeking candidates located throughout the San Francisco Bay area to perform biological project work for a variety of clients in California. You should be able to work an on-call schedule.
What you will accomplish:
Conduct biological surveys, conduct biological monitoring of construction projects, assist with data analysis, prepare survey reports, and contribute to report preparation.
Experience and qualifications for success:
A minimum of B.A. or B.S. in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related life sciences field
2-3 seasons of fieldwork experience including conducting biological surveys, habitat assessments, wetland delineations, and construction monitoring
Knowledge of California flora and fauna required
Previous field work experience from the San Francisco Bay Area and Central Valley in the environmental consulting field preferred
Ability to obtain agency approval to serve as a CDFW and/or USFWS-approved monitor for California red-legged frog and California tiger salamander required
Must be able to provide information on past projects and work history demonstrating previous experience serving as an agency-approved monitor
Prior experience with GIS software (ArcMap) and Trimble GPS units and ability to use technology for data collection
Strong writing skills to contribute to survey reports, biological assessments, wetland delineation reports, and permit applications
