Blackstone Technology Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer / Sr. Technical Consultant to join our Federal Consulting Practice in Washington DC
.
We are looking for a talented DevOps Engineer who is passionate about automation and orchestration to join our growing Cloud Practice. Strong candidates will have a desire to learn and work with new technologies and provide high quality technical support and leadership for transformational application development efforts and teams.
Responsibilities:
Support the build and development activities of multiple teams across multiple applications and responsibilities and locations.
Maintain and update build automation scripts and make changes as necessary for each release.
Integrate Continuous Delivery Framework components using various scripting languages
Builds will be done in a Linux environment, and will require interfacing with our source control system.
Set up/automation, installation, maintenance, and systems administration of our existing development and production servers
Help develop strategies for scale, security, monitoring, and back up for our platform
Continually strive to automate and streamline operations and maintenance processes by identifying areas of improvement, writing automation scripts, and documentation
Design and implement Continuous Delivery Framework components using Open Source Software
Support Continuous Integration (CI) and build servers, and ensure adherence to CI principles
Execute scheduled application builds and deployments in test environments
Manage the internal tools infrastructure
Assist the ops team with rolling out build related infrastructure changes to the app infrastructure
Subject matter expert providing hands on support and leadership, focused on tools like Puppet, Bamboo, Jenkins and similar.
Preferred Requirements:
Familiarity working in Agile / SCRUM Development environments
Some familiarity with Python, Java or other object oriented programming skills
Proficient with Apache administration
Proficient with PHP and PHP administration
Deeply proficient with MySQL and MySQL replication
Deep knowledge of tuning Linux internals & core system services (DNS, SMTP, Syslog, IPTables, etc.)
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline, or associates with equivalent years of experience.
At Least 7 Years of overall experience and knowledge of:
Unix/Linux Administration
Configuration Management experience Chef, Puppet
Strong scripting in at least one language Python, Perl, Shell, Batch
Virtualization VMWare, Xen, KVM
Jenkins
