Our Client, a mid-sized privately held international commercial construction company, is seeking a skilled Project Accountant in the Washington, DC metro area for a direct hire. The Project Accountant will have a strong working knowledge of project accounting functions including billing, contract set-up, job costing, change orders, AR aging, etc.
Principal Job
Responsibilities:
Set up jobs in job cost (Schedule of values) using Timberline
Set up project contracts
Track and record job cost variances
Enter/track job change orders
Enter daily cash receipts
Prepare monthly Accounts Receivable
Oversee monthly billing and respond to customer inquiries
Research and report delinquent amounts and resolve customer issues/correct any billing errors
Prepare 1099's
File Monthly Sales & Use Taxes
Process Accounts Payable Invoices
Complete Vendor Credit Applications
Ad hoc tasks as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

years of project accounting experience
Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
Proficiency with MS Excel required; Timberline and/or Sage 300 software experience preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
