Process Engineer (Class A Stamping)

Duties:
Responsible for automotive, Class A, sheet metal stamping process engineering, line training, and program development/launch. Oversee die trials and optimization, including pre-series part production. Run first piece trails with new tooling. Analyze customer quality requirements from pre-series part reviews and adjust die setups accordingly. Analyze stretch and strain reports and adjust dies to minimize failure risk. Develop transfer tooling for dies set for launch. Assist the build department to develop end-of-arm tooling for robotic transfer. Develop all process parameters sheets and implement manufacturing floor work processes. Analyze lines to promote efficiency and speed part insertion/extraction at full production. Optimize transfer paths by changing robot paths and accelerations to increase throughput. Participate in engineering change management post-launch, including modifications to die attributes and press setup parameters. Develop FMEA to identify part inspection criteria. Analyze and modify finished good part transport racks to minimize damage risk and efficiency of part loading.

Minimum
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor - Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or in a related field of study;
Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, or in a related Class A, automotive, sheet metal stamping role;
Experience must include:
1. Minimum of five (5) years designing multi-stage transfer, progressive, and prototype dies.
2. Minimum of five (5) years designing high-speed (150-200 strokes per minute or faster) progressive stamping tools.
3. Stamping tools troubleshooting for both short-term and long-term fixes.
Will accept equivalent foreign Bachelor degree; will also accept journeyman certificate with a related Associate degree.
Will also accept any fully equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and/or work experience.
