DUTIES: Responsible for releasing and planning of the product including, gathering requirements, developing customer use cases, prioritization and successful delivery of the product. Provide content in the formulation of strategic business plans for a line of products. Understand customers' needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are met. Drive product management processes to optimize product definition, maximize the value of products to EMC's business and product impact in the marketplace. Create first, best content which describes and communicates product vision and product direction for customers, analysts, and internal EMC audiences. Formulate tactics to support the growth associated with a product and/or product family. Direct and support the compilation and analysis of technical source data necessary for product development. Collaborate with the Marketing, Sales, and Engineering departments to meet customer requirements, take advantage of sales opportunities, and to ensure that short term and long term product strategies are executed effectively and are in support of business goals. Manage existing product lines, increasing profitability of existing products. Develop and implement technical project management tools such as plans, schedules, and responsibility and compliance matrices. Drive improvement Work to develop the go-to-market strategy, helping all to understand the logistical aspects of product positioning, key benefits, and targeting customer needs. Report project plans, progress, and results.
REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Comp. Sci., Engin(any), Business, Math, Physics, or related technical field plus 24 months experience in job offered or computer related occupation. Experience must include: 1) Enterprise hardware, Enterprise Software, or Enterprise Storage Products; 2) Managing storage product lifecycle; 3) Developing presentations for and presenting to all levels up to and including executive level personnel; 4) At least one project involving market and competitive assessment of a storage technology product; and 5) Identifying product requirements as input to the long term strategic roadmap. Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
EOEEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
