Overview:
Responsible for Controls Engineering and electrical support for department. Manages electrical projects: new, replacement, operations improvements, & periodic repair/replacement. Participates in functional area meetings to assist in improving plant performance.
Technical Support Activities such as:
o Controls modifications and continuous improvement (TIP)
o Process Controls Management (i.e. error proofing, programming logic, vision systems)
o Production and Maintenance Guidance (technical troubleshooting and direction)
o Planning Activities
o Launch Activities
Project and New Equipment Installation
The position may be an off-shift position with some required overtime.
Qualifications:
Basic Skills Required:
Controls Engineering Capability (Electrical Engineering Degree Preferred)
High level of analytical ability and creativity where problems are unusual and difficult
Comfortable with technology tools (PCs, Microsoft Office, Robots, Vision Systems)
Strong oral and written communications skills
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
Strong work ethic (self-starter, responsible, follow through on assignments)
Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization in a team environment
Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required.
Basic Skills Preferred:
Experience in automotive industry

New Equipment Specification, Install, Debug, and Qualification
Global Controls Standards Compliant
o Fanuc Robot experience, programming, debugging,
o Provide technical support and guidance to trades and production
o Working knowledge of all safety absolutes and policies (i.e. lockout, ESWP etc.)
o Allen Bradley SERVO Control and Variable Frequency Drives
o Knowledge of computer software utilized in manufacturing environment
o AutoCAD
Education:
College degree with a major in engineering or equivalent training
