Solectria Renewables, LLC seeks Senior Power Systems Electrical Engineer (Lawrence, MA):
1. Provide system engineering services on feasibility/system operation/stability analysis of large scale power electronics equipment installation in the distribution line.
2. Develop software models of power electronics system using industry standard software tools including PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD/EMTDC and Matlab/Simulink
3. Trade study for system design/installation options, component evaluations and functional specifications.
4. Support Engineering Dept. with developing state-of-the-art large scale power electronics equipment for medium voltage power systems.
5. Support Service/Engineering Department for system failure analysis and suggesting design options.
6. Interface with customers and utility engineers to provide engineering solutions and develop projects.
7. Prepare technical proposals and documentation.
8. Mentor and support junior engineers and provide technical advice to other departments.
Minimum Requirements:
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience in power system engineering. Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include:
1. Analytical and practical experience in both power system and power electronics
2. Experience developing user-defined models of power electronics systems using PSLF EPCL, Fortran, and PSSE IPLAN.
3. Experience with PSCAD/EMTDC in power system transient and dynamic simulation.
4. Experience in system transient and dynamic analysis using Matlab/Simulink, Simpower Systems and Simscape.
5. Experience providing understanding of power system load flow, fault analysis, unsymmetrical network and stability analysis.
6. Experience providing understanding with power system, including distribution power system, protective relays, power system passive elements and operations of large scale inverter system and control logic.
7. Understanding of industry and safety standards on power systems and large scale power electronics systems.
8. Excellent communication skills required to provide customer presentations and interact with high level decision makers.
9. Experience advising architectural decisions and writing engineering specifications, technical scope and effort, evaluations, and schedule creation and management.
