Our client has been a staple in southwestern Michigan for 50 years, privately owned with a reputation for quality metal components, primarily serving the automotive and aerospace industries. Their breadth of capabilities and equipment allow for manufacturing of custom parts in high or low volume applications; large or small, out of quality steel, aluminum or stainless.
OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Will direct and manage all facets of a non-union, 225-person, Tier 1 automotive parts manufacturing and assembly operation through 7 direct reports in the areas of production, quality, facilities, etc. currently manufacturing product over 3 shifts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITIONS:
Lead and direct Managers and Supervisors of all departments in order to safely, efficiently, effectively, and profitably achieve all manufacturing objectives.
Identify and establish appropriate performance metrics to measure plant performance, measure on a monthly basis, and report to executive leadership.
Implement cost effective systems of control over both capital, operating, and manpower expenditures.
Assist in the development of plant budgets to align with corporate goals.
Mentor and develop staff to ensure seamless transitions when changes occur such as promotional opportunities and business growth.
Ensure implementation and maintenance of 5S in all areas of the facility.
Interact with customers and vendors to ensure customer satisfaction.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
Applicable Bachelor's Degree is required. (i.e., Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or similar, etc.) with a minimum 5-7 years management experience required. Tier One automotive management experience preferred. Knowledge in ISO 9001/TS16949 requirements. Experience in welding and metal stamping environments and proficient with MS Office Business Application software.
Looking for an operational leader who can inspire, mentor and motivate. A hands-on approach and strong work ethic required.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
