Minimum Qualifications
2-4 years degree and RHIT or RHIA Certification preferred
3-5 years medical record experience
1-2 years management experience preferred
Special Skills and Knowledge Requirements
Knowledge of health information management procedures.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Must be able to organize priorities with ability to work in open office.
Must be able to work tactfully and cooperatively with other employees.
Must have the ability to exercise tact, discretion, and judgment with medical, legal, and licensing personnel and/or patients.
CPR certified and CPI certified.
Primary Customers
Patients; Family Members; Visitors; General Public; Coworkers; Other departments within the facility.
Director will be responsible for assuring timely completion, integrity, authenticity and accessibility of all inpatient and outpatient medical records.
Will maintain current patients census and analyze each chart to assure completion or all necessary information.
Director will also be responsible for flagging deficiencies and reporting final diagnoses through coding using the ICD-9-CM and DSM-V format. Lastly, they will assure immediate access of any chart or any particular type of chart using acceptable filing, coding, and indexing procedures.
Director will be responsible for reporting any deviations of accepted practice to the Risk Manager and will be expected to deliver excellent customer service to hospital personnel and outside individuals or agencies.
Provide effective leadership and management to all receptionist personnel while ensuring staff compliance with hospital policies and procedures, protocols and guidelines.
Coach, mentor and ensure staff development/training and competencies of staff.
Audit charts for Joint Commission and policies and procedures compliance and will complete monthly data reports.
Coordinate providers FPPE/OPPE chart reviews with providers and will aid in the maintenance of compliance for various accrediting and licensing agencies.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
