Seeking a Lead Design Engineer to lead vehicle fuel system design & integration development activities focused on multiple automotive applications. Design, develop and package cutting edge vehicle CNG/LPG fuel systems.
Our client is the world leader in Alternative Fuel Systems, achieving over 30% world market shares in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG / Propane). Products are distributed to over 50 countries.
What you will do as Lead Design Engineer:
Your overall responsibility is to lead the design, develop and package the vehicle CNG/LPG fuel system according to best-in- class product development cycle-times, expenses and attainment of industry leading quality, performance and cost targets.
Position Responsibilities
CNG/LPG fuel system vehicle integration
Project/Program planning
Concept generation and selection
System/component specification
CAD design - SOLIDWORKS preferred
BOM preparation
Engineering analysis
Detail design (material selection, Geometric Tolerancing application)
Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Design reviews
Preparation of technical data, product documentation.
Optionally: Mathematical simulation modeling (FEM/FEA) and Finite Element Analysis
What we need from you :
BSME or equivalent
5
years of experience in mechanical design and development of gasoline or Diesel or alt fuel system integration
Competence in design reviews
Experience of development of component and system specifications based on results of testing and analysis
Ownership of design project(s) - from concept to production.
Experience in working with both prototype and production component manufacturers.
Effective working in cross-functional teams; particularly with test engineers/technicians
Good planning skills and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
o Experience in vehicle integration or heavy duty vehicles highly preferred
o Experience with engine performance and emissions
Must reside in the US and be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
