Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Manager

ProKarma is currently hiring for Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Manager that would like to join our team! You will be applying your CMDB expertise and experience to an enterprise-wide effort to align company technology teams to a single set of tools and processes for IT Service Management.
Qualifications
o Bachelor's Degree in related field and minimum 5 years of relevant business experience required
o Ability to manage and resolve conflicts
o Deep understanding of IT Service Management processes, particularly those relating to Configuration Management
o Ability to guide functional discussions and initiatives across departments
o Ability to create short-term and long-term departmental plans for business, production and organizational
o priorities
o Applies business and management expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives
o ITIL v3 Intermediate certification preferred
Other Details
o Aiding in the process by which discovery tools capture IT Systems and subsequently populate the database.
o Ensuring processes and people are in place thereby allowing accurate information is recorded in the discovery process.
o Owning the process by which relationships are created in the CMDB, such as key IT and business services and applications to servers and databases.
o Promoting best practices through formal and informal education and training.
o Liaising with other process owners and functional areas (eg. Change Management, Problem Management, etc.)
o Working closely with Service Reporting to ensure that key metrics and KPIs are monitored and measured to ensure value is delivered.
o Aiding in the deployment of the CMDB auto-discovery process that will capture IT Systems and populate the database.
o Ensuring accurate information is recorded in the discovery process.
o Establishing naming styles and conventions for the Configuration Items to be managed and controlled.
o Manually creating relationships in the CMDB, such as key IT, business services, applications to servers and databases.
o Designing and seeking agreement on the scope of the Configuration Management processes, including the items to be controlled, the proper security level for these items, and the information to be captured and recorded.
o Ensuring that their staff is hired and that they receive adequate, relevant, and on-going training.
o Improving the effectiveness of the Configuration Management database tools and services.
o Ensuring all data complies with legal standards and regulations.
o Assuring that all information is protected and backed-up.
o Participating in monitoring, testing, and performing recovery operations with stored and archived data and images using network storage devices.
o Regular reporting to the functional teams and senior leadership.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
