Summary
Our client is looking for a Data Engineer responsible for designing, building and maintaining solutions that address a wide variety of data objectives - from traditional business intelligence to supply data needed to build sophisticated models which will become part of our products.
Responsible
Working closely with product teams and data scientists to determining how to capture, persist and maintain data.
Building distributed, scalable, and reliable data pipelines that ingest and process data at scale with ever diminishing time processing windows.
Identifying opportunities in our data landscape where we need additional data and how we might store it
Identifying and make recommendations on data storage solutions using alternate technologies
Analyzing and recommend alternate persistence solutions (cloud vs internally hosted)
Serve as resource for the Data Sciences team to include new data into their analysis environment
The role we are currently looking to fill will originally be primarily responsible for exploring, making recommendations, implementing and operationalizing a new data-store technology to help us improve our ability to meet the needs of our internal and external stakeholders. If new technologies are implemented based on these efforts it will be the data engineer's responsibility to operate the systems and grow them based on business needs.
Qualifications
Extensive development experience designing and implementing object-oriented systems with a heavy data focus
5 years' experience in software development with Java, Python or PHP
Experience building large data stores, modern data warehouse, or advanced data processing solutions
Experience with cloud tools/infrastructure
Experience with at least one of the following non-relational (NoSQL) data-stores:
Mongo, Hadoop, or Cassandra
Experience with Impala or HIVE
Experience with Map Reduce/Elastic Search
Strong SQL and ETL skills
Familiar with PostgreSQL or Oracle
Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
