Job Description

1. Bachelor's Degree and/or related experience, as approved by the Board of Directors, in one of the following or related fields:
Social work, Psychology, Education, Business or Non-profit Administration.
2. Prior administrative/management experience.
3. Experience in the following areas given preference:
public speaking, writing skills, grant writing, fund raising, public relations, volunteer management, child abuse and neglect.

SUPERVISION
The Executive Director of CASA of the High Plains is responsible to the Board of Directors
DUTIES
1 . Administrative
A. Fiscal Management
1. Develop a budget in consultation with the Treasurer of the Board.
2. Assist the Treasurer with periodic budget reviews.
3. Monitor monthly expenses and assure costs remain within the approved budget.
4. Review and approve invoices for payment.
5. Prepare checks to pay vendors and employees.
6. Prepare request for reimbursements for grants on a monthly basis.
B. Fund Raising
1. Responsible for writing grants as authorized by the Board.
2. Assist with fund raising activities as directed by the Board.
C. Public Relations
1. Give presentations within the community regarding CASA.
2. Explain and promote CASA to professional and community organizations.
3. Serve as spokesperson to the media as approved by the Board.
D. Board Responsibilities
1. Report regularly to the Board.
2. Attend meetings of the Board and its committees.
3. Recommend to and assist the Board in formation of policies.
4. Educate the Board on issues affecting CASA.
5. Assist the Board in the development of a long-range plan.
6. Assist the President in the orientation and training of new members of the Board.
7. Assist the Board in recruiting new members.
2. Program Activities
A. Personnel
1. Employ Staff.
2. Supervise staff and ensure annual performance reviews are completed.
3. Administer personnel policies.
4. Prepare and maintain accurate personnel files.
B. Volunteers
1. Responsible for assisting with volunteer recruitment.
2. Responsible for assisting with screening procedures for all volunteers.
3. Assists with volunteer training.
4. Is available for volunteer consultation on cases as needed.
5. Moderates staffings between professionals and volunteers regarding case related concerns as needed.
C. Program Evaluation
1. Develops a program evaluation in consultation with the Board.
2. Assures compliance with requirements of funding entities.
3. Prepares an annual report for the Board.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
