Job Description:

Our client heavily involved in the Medical Device Industry is looking for someone with a strong Swiss CNC background. They are a growing company so multiple positions are available including: Off shift Lead Man, Swiss CNC Programmer and Set Up Men. As they continue to expand this facility opportunities for professional growth will be readily available.

POSITION
Summary:
Program, set up and machine quality precision parts per specification, using CNC Swiss machines while working under minimal supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of position):

Analyzes drawings, sketches, and design data of part to evaluate dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates
Select tools and edit efficient programs for CNC machines to maximize utilization and minimize downtime of the equipment.
Performs initial machine setup and creates detailed documentation for other machinist to follow.
Monitors run to ensure consistent quality parts are being produced; performs troubleshooting to resolve issues; changes tooling as required
Uses measuring devices and blueprints to inspect parts for tolerance and visually inspects surface for appearance and other potential problems. May use Statistical Process Control.
Improve manufacturing processes by analyzing processes to determine more efficient methods or techniques; improve processes to improve quality
Develop statistical process control plans for manufacturing
Define process control plan, establish limits, ensure implementation, and review results and determine corrective action.
Install tooling and set up manufacturing jobs. Perform initial set up of the job; mount fixtures and install tooling; analyze and debug process.
Follow SOP instructions, run first article or process verification run and complete in process inspection; consistent with the Quality plan run part to ensure conformance; verify process and process controls; document first article; enter accurate data in mrp software
Implement change requests from customers
Assist in the quotation process as required.
Define process and estimate cycle times, define quality requirements, and identify technical issues and concerns
Maintains a safe and clean work area
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND
Qualifications:
2-4 yrs. machine technology degree or equivalent work experience
4-8 yrs. of direct swiss machining work experience
Experience in a job shop environment machining metals.
Comprehensive understanding of speed and feed for material, such as stainless steel, aluminum and high temperature alloys .
Knowledge of cutting tools with the ability to select/order appropriate tooling to maintain tolerance and the maximum uptime on machines.
Live Tooling
Understanding of general machine shop procedures and safety awareness.
Geometric tolerance and ability to interpret drawings
Skilled in computer programs such as excel and word
Willing to travel for training
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
