Join our growth oriented firm as an Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper! Atlas Real Estate is in the business of brokering, managing, leasing and consulting to real estate in the multi-family housing and commercial sector. We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer oriented person to be a part of our dynamic team.
The right candidate shall be self-starting but must also be able to take directions and be a goal oriented person. We highly prefer residential real estate accounting experience and commercial accounting experience with CAM experience a big plus. Many residents are not bi-lingual so being able to speak and understand Spanish is desired.
Your base of operations shall be at our Beverly Hills office (though this could change in the future if another location is purchased / leased) and your field of operations is Los Angeles County with the possibility of expanding into the surrounding Counties (such as Orange or Ventura). However, you will work in Great Los Angeles.
Qualified candidates should have experience in the home, apartment, retail, and/or hospitality industries. You must have Windows program knowledge (Word, Excel, etc.) and Quickbooks Pro along with the ability to learn our property management software program. It would be especially helpful to have familiarity with Fair Housing laws though these can be learned. Professional communication skills in ENGLISH are a must and SPANISH is highly desired.
We require that you are able to be bonded and have graduated high school or the equivalent. A college degree or at least some college level courses is preferred. An accounting background with at least two years of bookkeeping/accounting experience or having majored in accounting or finance in college is required. We do not seek data entry clerks but persons that have a solid grasp of the principles of accounting.
Successful candidates will need a good attitude, be willing to accept responsibility, be computer proficient, enjoy learning, adapt well to change, be familiar with accounting methodologies, have experience dealing with people, and be willing to do repeated and routine work, as accounting/bookkeeping often mandates. Employees must be honest and use good judgment in handling confidential information. This is not a clock in and clock out job. You will be in charge of the tenant base accounts and mistakes are not well received from clients. You need to be willing to own your job.
All candidates will be or have:
Organized, efficient, hyper detail oriented, hard working, conscientious, quick to learn and comprehend information, knowledge of economics and accounting principles, general banking knowledge, mathematical (number facile), analytical, problem solvers, proactive, reading comprehension, written comprehension, verbal communication skills, be able to interpret and explain data, be able to operate office machinery including calculators, typewriters, fax, computer and copy machines, personal computer and accounting software knowledge, work independently and work well under pressure.

Compensation:
$13-$16 hourly based on experience ($15 mean). Do not apply if you want to make $20/hour or $40,000
annually to start.
This position is a cross over position. Not only will you handle accounts receivable (the primary duty), but you will also handle bill entry, some payables, reporting and more. We will stretch your capabilities and if you shine, you will be compensated for it based upon what you bring to the table and what the firm's financial budget mandates. We support growth, continuing education and merit.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
