The GENERAL WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE is responsible, at various points, for loading, unloading, sorting, staging, transporting and otherwise handling products that come into and move out of the warehouse. Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other Warehouse Associates and productively with little supervision. Individuals must follow U.S. Lumber safety policies and procedures at all times.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
oBending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items: Requires the ability to consistently, and often, lift a minimum of 50 lbs
oResponding to public address system announcements, directions from supervisors and managers, warning alarms from other fork lift drivers
oWalking and carrying merchandise: Requires moving around the warehouse to assist others or moving merchandise themselves
oIdentify and read tickets, SKU's, UPC labels and reports: Requires recognizing, identifying and using merchandise and necessary reports.
oGripping used to operate machinery or hand tools
REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:
oHigh School diploma or equivalent preferred
oMinimum of one (1) year warehouse experience
oPrior lumber experience desired
oForklift experience and forklift certification preferred, but not required
oMust be able to lift approximately 50 lbs
oBasic math and analytical skills needed
oMust pass the required pre-employment drug test and background check
oFlexible with scheduling
oSuccessfully complete any required training or orientation programs
oMust be able to follow all U. S. Lumber Group safety policies and procedures
oSelf-starter, pro-active and able to take initiative
