Human Resources Generalist

Reporting to the Regional Human Resource Manager with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Plant Manager. Ensures that the daily Human Resource functions of the facility (and perhaps within multiple smaller facilities within a region) are performed according to GBW policies and procedures.
Bilingual - English and Spanish candidates preferred but not required.
The essential duties and responsibilities are listed below. Other duties may be assigned.
Primary HR point of contact for shop team members.
Ensures personnel files are kept in accordance with legal requirements and corporate policy.
Tracks the location attendance and ensures the corporate policy is consistently enforced.
Assists with employee relations issues under the direction of the Regional Human Resource Manager.
Conducts and/or oversees new employee orientation.
Responsible for onboarding process of new hires (paperwork, training, equipment, etc.).
Coordinates all HR paperwork including changes, payroll workflow, terms, etc. (maintains I9 forms).
Responsible for Worker Compensation Case Management and filing First Report of Injury.
Assists in delivering various HR policies, location work rules, programs and procedures.
Assists with the hiring process by coordinating job postings, reviewing resumes, performing telephone interviews and reference checks, along with other local recruiting activity.
Update and maintain job descriptions.
Upload paper applications to ATS system/instruct walk-in candidates to the application system.
Assist Recruiting Team with local job fair planning and information.
Coordinates the performance management process.
Must be available to travel up to 25% of the time (possibly less unless role is covering multiple sites).
Performs other related duties and projects as required and assigned.
This position will be based out of Neodesha, KS but will also be responsible for our offices in Pittsburg and Coffeyville, KS. Some travel will be required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual will possess the following knowledge, characteristics, skills and/or abilities:
Must be comfortable in working in a heavy manufacturing type of environment (we do railcar repair!)
Strong overall computer skills and highly proficient in using Microsoft Office products.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Ability to maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality.
Attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Experience in using HRIS systems is a plus
Bilingual is a plus (preferably Spanish, yet Russian and Vietnamese is also valuable)
3-5
years' experience working in an HR department.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business preferred but not required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Human Resource certifications are a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
