Configuration Engineer
Contract-to-Hire
Frisco, TX

Summary
Primary responsibility is to ensure that the final release/install package of software, applications and system changes has met all quality control, user acceptance and business validation criteria. The Configuration Engineer will ensure that a back-up plan exists for the release/install and will perform roll-backs if the release/install fails.
Releases software, application and system changes to high-risk/high availability production environments.
Adheres to standard release/installation procedures.
Prepares detailed release/install related technical documentation which serves as an audit trail for the release/install.
Works closely with quality assurance team to ensure final release/install package version is up to organizational standards.
Ensures that a back-up plan exists for the release/install.
Performs roll-backs if the release/install fails.
Documents and follows-up with issues in the release/install package.
Adheres to policies for release/install related communication.
Labels builds from the development code repository Ensures that User Acceptance and Business Validation has been received prior to and post release/install.
Escalates issues as needed. Identifies and escalate gaps in process.
Collaborates with developers, business analysts and Administrators to coordinate a successful release.
Executes SQL database edits according to SLA Understanding of processes around releasing software, application or database changes.
Understanding of SQL concepts with relation to T-SQL and SQL Server 2000 or higher.
Working knowledge of SQL Server Administration tasks such as replication, database backups, restores etc.
Preferred experience in configuration of IIS, web services installations, MSI packages, reporting services installation.
Experience with version control tools.
Familiarity with Change Control Processes and ITIL/ITSM best practices.
Ability to provide 24 hour on-call production support on a rotational basis.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Have working knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems (for example: Windows 2000, XP)

Mandatory Experience
Understanding .NET architecture (windows services, IS, websites)
SQL (some development experience- create, maintain and configure and set up database)
TFS and MSBuild (team foundation server)
PowerShell experience

Nice to Have Experience
Development experience on the.NET platform (5 years plus of experience)
Management can train on the TFS, MSBuild, etc. if candidates have 5
years of .NET development

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
