Responsibilities: The P and D supervisor is responsible for supervising drivers while coordinating the timely pickup and delivery of shipments in a fast paced environment within the local operation to meet department/shift and service center standards for safety, quality, efficiency, cost, service and delivery. The supervisor must complete the various company and government forms utilized in freight movement such as shipping orders, city stripping manifests, freight bills, inter-terminal movement forms (ITM's) and exception forms. Constantly uses OD's proprietary technology system permitting consistent monitoring of shipment locations as freight moves through the various terminals while communicating continuously throughout the day with drivers/associates, customers and team members verbally and through other computer operating systems.

The primary responsibilities of the P & D Supervisor are:
Monitor and evaluate the safety of each employee and/or driver on a daily basis.
Monitor and evaluate the safe and efficient loading and unloading process of freight throughout the shift.
Monitors, evaluates, and teaches employees safe lifting techniques as well as uses safe lifting as needed throughout the day.
Manages, assigns and supervises pickups and deliveries to employees in the area to ensure proper utilization of employees, equipment, loading and unloading while meeting OD and customer expectations.
Closely works with the Operations Manager/Asst SC Manager and/or Service Center Manager to ensure alignment in meeting daily/weekly/monthly and yearly business objectives.
Provide analyses, suggestions and ideas for the improvement of operations within the shift, department and facility.
Provides positive and constructive feedback to employees on a continual basis regarding ROI, MPH, Stops Per Hour, return shipments, missed shipments, delivery/pick up errors, overall productivity, etc. This also includes handling disciplinary action as needed.
Ensure compliance with local state, federal, federal safety regulations, as well as OSHA compliance, and DOT compliance.
Ensures that pickups and deliveries are made to minimize missed pickups while working within DOT hours of service regulations.
Schedules pick up and deliveries to ensure freight arrives back at the service center to meet schedules.
Operates AS400 system, BLU system, DYMS, ERSI and any other computer/internal freight monitoring systems used within the company to monitor freight movement.
Ensures, when practical, that shipments are headloaded or through loaded to destination at initial pick up.
Conducts shift meetings as needed.
Make quick and informed decisions based on the schedules and communicates schedule to affected employees.
Inspects working conditions of tools and equipment needed for safe operation within the area and directs the correction of any improper or adverse condition that exists.
Comprehends and ensures compliance with company and government regulations.
Works regularly scheduled shift as well as other shift/s as needed. Must be available to work depending upon customer pick up and deliveries scheduled.
Interacts with customers via phone and email.

Eligibility Requirements:
Education: High School Degree or GED or College degree
Previous
Experience: Previous supervisory experience preferred
Other: Superb knowledge of local geography to effectively schedule deliveries and pickups
Computer skills: AS400, Microsoft office, efficient with other computer operating systemsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
