Summary:
The registered nurse promotes and restores patient's health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patient, visitors, and families. Practice of Nursing shall be performed within the scope of practice as outlined for Registered Professional Nurses in the NYS Education Law, Title V111, Article 139 and the NYS Office of the Professions Nursing Guide to Practice.
Core Job
Responsibilities:
1. Delivery of Nursing Care. The registered nurse manages the nursing care process and delivers nursing care services to patient in accordance with New York State nursing practice act, regulatory standards and hospital policies, practices and procedures, including but not limited to:
o The registered nurse is responsible to identify patient care requirements establishing personal rapport with patients and families and understanding of plan of care throughout the patient's experience.
o The registered nurse will establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends and families.
o The registered nurse will promote patient independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends and family to understand disease process, medications, and self-care skills, and provide time to answer questions.
o The registered Nurse will assure quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending adjustments to the patient's needs.
o The registered nurse will follow hospital and nursing division philosophies and standards of care set by the State Board of Nursing, state nursing practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
2. Safety and Environment of Care
o The registered nurse will ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements following manufactures instructions troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs; maintaining equipment, inventories, and evaluating equipment and techniques.
o The registered nurse will protect patients, employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and controlled substance regulations. Utilize universal precautions and practice at all times.
o The registered nurse will maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care personnel.
3. Patient Care Administration
o The registered nurse will document patient care service by charting in patients' medical records accurately and timely in accordance with licensure, regulatory hospital standards.
o The registered nurse will maintain continuity of care with the nursing team by communicating plan of care and follow through with multidisciplinary team ensuring that patient administration of care for all services provided are organized, planned and delivered.
o The registered nurse will maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
o The registered nurse will maintain nursing supplies inventory checking stock to determine inventory and PAR level; anticipating needs supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies; using equipment to accomplish job.
4. Continuing Education
o The registered nurse will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, mandatory in-services; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
5. Nursing Quality Improvement
o Registered nurses engage in quality improvement initiatives including continuing education, participation in hospital-wide and unit specific teams, identifying nursing practice areas for quality improvement and safe outcomes.
o The registered nurse maintains a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team by communicating information; responding to request; building rapport; participating in team problem solving.
6. Service Excellence
o Provides service excellence to patients and their families/visitors that meets or exceeds patient expectations through offering empathetic and compassionate patient-centered care.
o Professionally manages patient and family/visitor needs and concerns using AIDET and positive service recovery methods.
o Responds to patient requests and makes active referrals to subject matter expert/decision maker who can fulfill the patient request
o Provides culturally sensitive care

Education Requirements:
Required: Graduate of an accredited associate degree (ASN, AND) or diploma in nursing
Preferred:Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program


Licensure/Certification Registration Requirements:
Required: Current and unrestricted NY licensure as a Registered Nurse. ACLS, NRP and Stable certification required.

3 years of experience in OB preferred.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
