Database Analyst Job in Baltimore, MD Analyze data obtained in databases in order to normalize and building field level mapping documents on how to combine this data.
Analyze existing field layouts and hierarchy in an existing Database to determine how to add/up.
When creating queries have the ability to use string manipulation to match partial strings from one field to like field in another data set.
Reading, analyzing and comparing data from different sources.
Ability to create simple queries to find duplicate data, missing data from one data set not contained in a second data set.
Data Understand the concept of one to one relationships, and one to many relationships in data base design.
Inner and Outer joins.
Position Requirements:
Ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with manipulating, querying and performing calculations on large volumes of data (100K records or more)using MS Excel, MS Access and basic SQL statements.
Candidate should have demonstrated understanding of relational database concepts and preferably experience creating and maintaining databases in MS Access and/or SQL.
Candidate must be a quick learner of complex concepts and systems, well organized, able to independently prioritize workload, able to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers; and an independent thinker who takes pride in their work through attention to detail and deadlines.
Understanding of the energy industry is a plus but not required.
