ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
oParticipates in the care of the patient, under the direct supervision of the Physician and in collaboration with the healthcare team.
oCollects patient information and assessment data. Obtains and records patient's vital signs: temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight and height. Reports assessment findings to practitioner, and records data on appropriate documentation forms in a timely manner. Obtains additional data from patient and significant other based on initial data collection. Performs chart review prior to clinic visit to obtain historical data.
oMonitors patient status recognizing and reporting abnormal findings or changes in condition.
oOrganizes patient care activities based on assessment findings.
oConfirms and clarifies written orders prior to implementation of delegated tasks.
oMaintains and uses principles of aseptic techniques and infection control when performing clinical duties and tasks.
oUnder clinical supervision, performs delegated procedures common to the specialty area in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
oAssists practitioner in identified patient procedures/treatments/examinations, (preparation, positioning, supplies, equipment). Proactively problem-solves and identifies solutions to barriers to safety.
oAppropriately obtains and manages specimens, including: labeling, form completion, transport to laboratories, and log maintenance. Performs quality control for waived testing. Acts as a trainer for waived testing, and coordinates activities related to proficiency.
oRecognizes emergency situations and implements emergency procedures according to clinic guidelines. Administers first aid, CPR, and maintains emergency equipment and supplies.
oProvides appropriate patient education, health information materials and community resource lists as directed, and maintains educational supplies. Identifies patient's need for additional information, and refers to appropriate healthcare resources.
Qualifications:
Requires: High school diploma or GED, and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program, through a community college and/or vocational school. Must have current certification in CPR. Certification as a Medical Assistant by an approved national examination agency. Requires successful interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members in order to foster optimal quality of outpatient care. EPIC experience preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
