Engineer - Construction (Constructability Review Team)

The Richmond District's Construction Section is seeking a qualified individual to join the Constructability Review Team to provide sound application of engineering principles and judgment in delivering quality construction projects. You will analyze preliminary plans and project documentation ensuring correctness of design; direct changes on projects to achieve consistency and constructability; prepare projects for advertisement; and meet published advertisement schedules. Position will evaluate projects in consideration of economic factors, identify and develop required specifications/standards, and establish appropriate construction time limits.
Minimum Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of standard construction methods/procedures; of construction specifications and contract provisions; and of engineering procedures involving project management and design consultants. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal/external customers; to read/comprehend plans; to perform mathematical calculations; and to gather/analyze data and prepare clear and concise technical reports. Skill in the use of computers and web based applications to include project scheduling software. Valid driver's license required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
