CDL Class A Truck Driver
Sussex, WI
Work for a family-owned landscape supply company in Sussex as a CDL A Driver delivering wholesale landscaping products and equipment in the summer and pallets of salt in the winter to customers in the Metro Milwaukee area. Touch freight using hand jacks, 2-wheelers, and lift-gate. Work 1st shift, Mon-Fri, no nights or weekends. This is a year-round, full-time, permanent position offering a stable work environment and career opportunities.

Late model equipment:
day cabs, 48'-53' dry vans w/lift-gate, and flatbed w/moffetts. No experience necessary on moffett, but helpful.

Responsibilities of the CDL Class A Truck Driver

Backing in and out of docks
Drive trucks with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport materials and equipment to specific route destinations
Hand unload using lift-gate, pallet-jack, moffett, and/or 2-wheel hand-cart
Some warehouse duties included; load/unload trucks, stock, pick orders, etc.
Checking mechanical aspects of the vehicle
Reporting maintenance/repair issues on tractors and trailers

Requirements of the CDL Class A Truck Driver

Must be able to work Mon-Fri, 1st shift. Mandatory OT in Spring and Fall.
Current DOT Medical Card and be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug and criminal background screen
Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver s License, with air brakes endorsement and you must be able to drive a manual transmission, with 6 months of service and prior verifiable experience and references
Be in excellent physical condition and be able to stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for extended periods and have normal use of senses
Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoors
Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Be able to lift, push, pull 75 pounds with no assistance
Hand unload experience using lift-gate, pallet-jack, moffett and/or 2-wheel hand cart.
Beverage/foodservice delivery a PLUS!

Compensation for the CDL Class A Truck Driver

Starting pay is $16/hour with overtime after 40 hours per week and full
Benefits:
health, dental, life, 401k, paid vacations and Holidays. Regular rate increases based on performance. Typical work week is 40-45 hours per week.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
