The incumbent serves as the liaison between the patient/family, vendor, Veterans Board of Appeals, Congressional Liaisons, District Counsel, and provides a channel through which the company can respond to patient needs and concerns. The incumbent communicates with the patient and his/her family and with clinical and administrative staff, veteran affairs and private sector, to enhance responsiveness by the CFU in meeting the health care needs of veterans. Identifies sources of difficulty in obtaining services, negotiates VA red tape on behalf of the veterans, makes appropriate referrals other services within the company or community, provides follow-up to ensure that satisfactory service has been provided and works closely with staff throughout the company in order to ensure that all patients are made aware of the fee appeals process. Receives and hears complaints, grievances, requests for reconsideration and appeals, from patients or from individuals acting on behalf of the patients. Investigates complaints, initiates action/appeals or change to rectify the situation and reports corrective measures taken to parties involved, when warranted. Monitors and evaluates corrective measures taken. Incumbent is responsible for safeguarding and insuring statutory and constitutional rights of patients. He/she has authority to investigate all areas, files, records, personnel or other witnesses where any practice appears to violate patients rights, entitlement to goods or services, or which causes unnecessary delay, discomfort or dissatisfaction to patients, their families, or the company and reports such findings with remedial recommendations. Recommendations must meet fee regulatory requirements and overall company entitlement.
Requirements
Applicant must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Specialized experience is experience that equips the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and this experience is typically in or related to the position to be filled. this position requires skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
