Intermittent Garden Laborer - T.C. Steele State Historic Site
This position provides temporary labor necessary for the restoration / rehabilitation of designated garden areas at T.C. Steele State Historic Site.
The hourly rate of pay is $9.00/hr.
Responsibilities:
Maintain garden areas, including weeding, watering, transplanting and mulching
Assist with dismantling and re-laying garden walkways and other stonework
Assist with installing new garden features, such as irrigation system and deer fencing
Assist with preparing and planting garden beds
Maintain garden equipment and tools
Perform other related duties as required
Preferred
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; OR one (1) year of work experience
Must possess a valid Indiana driver's license
Ability to operate hand and power tools as well as motorized equipment such as tillers, trenchers and weedeaters
Ability to do physical labor required
Must be able to work outdoors in hot or cold weather extremes for several hours at a time
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Knowledge of garden plants helpful
Be willing to follow the Corporation's dress code
