Position
Summary:
Service Technician (ST) is our multi-skilled maintenance technician at the BATO Aiken ORR facility.
When problems arise with our manufacturing equipment, the Service Technician on shift will troubleshoot and repair the system as quickly as possible to maximize production up-time.
The Service Technician group will also perform periodic scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration on all manufacturing equipment.
We utilize the Japanese concept of Kaizen (continuous improvement) to modify our equipment to maximize efficiency/minimize breakdowns.
Service technicians work directly with engineering to implement these improvements.
Responsibilities:
We expect all of our Service Technicians to perform all of the three aforementioned facets as a member of our maintenance team.
Bridgestone/Firestone recognizes the significance of the contributions that our Service Technicians can make and therefore does not limit them in what they can do.
At times, Service Technicians will be called upon to complete tasks normally performed by engineering.
This position will report to a Maintenance Crew Leader.
Service Technicians will work the same schedule as production.
This schedule is the modified Dupont schedule and requires rotation between day and night shift.
A sample is as follows:
4 day shift - 7 days off - 4 night shift - 3 days off - 3 day shift - 1 day off - 3 night shift - 3 days off - begin rotation again with 4 day shift.

Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED, preferred but not required
Experience:
2 years in industrial maintenance Knowledge and Skills.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
