Community Outreach Assistant (Booking agent)
Southeastern Guide Dogs is seeking a full-time Community Outreach Assistant to support our Community Outreach Specialist in creating a successful speaking engagements program. This person will be responsible for the following:
Act as a Booking/Speaking Agent for the Community Outreach Specialist identifying potential speaking venues and qualified audiences
Booking venues and coordinating events with appropriate parties
Offering Administrative support to the Community Outreach Specialist including full management of Outlook calendar
Update Donor Perfect records as necessary
Personally provide transportation to and from functions when feasible and coordinating travel when not
Follow up with potential contacts and noting key relationships to pass along to Donor Relations Managers
Special projects as assigned
Qualified candidates will possess:
Two or more years of experience in office administration
Experience in cold calling, sales or venue booking is a MUST. We need someone comfortable with reaching out to groups and associations to book speaking engagements for the purpose of increasing awareness about Southeastern Guide Dogs
Bachelor's degree preferred. Completion of a minimum of two years of college-level coursework or equivalent required.
Exemplary public relations, customer service, time management, and organization skills.
Superb verbal, written, presentation and negotiation skills
Exceptional command of the English language, including vocabulary usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
A high level of proficiency with a variety of computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and database-management applications.
An understanding of nonprofit organizational structure and board relations is preferred but not required.
