Electrical (Facilities) Engineer
The Engineer, Facilities is responsible for monitoring the plants equipment and making improvements in order to achieve maximum overall equipment efficiency. This position will troubleshoot issues, determine root cause(s), and make temporary or permanent countermeasure decisions on equipment to satisfy needs and standards. This position will also cooperate within teams regularly, including task force groups that are for improving specific areas of the production lines.
KEY TASKS
Troubleshoot issues on facilities equipment, determine the root cause and make decisions on temporary and permanent countermeasure solutions
Monitor the equipment to verify that current procedures and countermeasures are effective
Facilitate projects dealing with expansions and improvements, write up project approvals, merit calculations, equipment specifications, and oversee installation, start-up and debugging of equipment
Manage plant utilities by monitoring usage, planning and implementing methods to reduce cost, and scheduling preventative maintenance on utility equipment
Design and specify new equipment as well as modifications for existing equipment (facilities equipment: Compressors, HVAC, Electrical Substations, OCB's, etc.)
Specify spare parts for new and existing equipment so as to minimize the amount of stock needed to be kept on hand
Write a monthly report of last month's issues
Participate in task force groups to improve specific areas of production lines
Monitor maintenance /vendor labor reports on a daily basis
Monitor refrigerant usage for compliance issues
Audit plant for environmental and other OSHA compliance needs
Must be familiar with fire suppression systems, plant water (soft and RO) systems and waste water systems for the plant and monitor on a regular basis and repair as needed
Must be familiar with plants high and medium voltage systems and how to maintain, test and repair as needed
Responsible for all testing of plant power distribution, pressure vessels, fire suppression, water treatment systems and compressed air systems
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical field required
Years of
Experience:
5
years of experience in a manufacturing environment required
Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license required for business travel. Passport may be required for international travel
Regular and predictable attendance required
Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and responsibilities
Overtime may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
Experience with industrial pneumatic/electrical systems
State trained for pressure vessel regulations
Universal refrigerant card is a plus
Maintaining and monitoring of plant material handling fleet
KEY COMPETENCIES
Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
