The foreman is responsible for organizing the daily scheduled activities on the shop floor to ensure the continuity of the production process. They are in charge of the day to day operations and the improvements of the production department within their team. The foreman leads the entire production team to achieve excellent results in safety, 5S, quality and efficiency. Organization, communication, decision-making, innovation and flexibility are the competences they use for translating the companys policy and strategy within their own team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Reporting and transfer:
The foreman provides a daily transfer of relevant information to the next shift. This concerns transfer of the staffing, technical disturbances and recovery actions, the course of the production process, and changes in the planning schedule.
For HR matters, the foreman is supported by the Production Manager and the HR Manager. For general production problems, they are supported by the Production Manager and the Technical Manager.
Team report & team meetings:
The foreman manages the team reporting and notes the daily production outcome (per planned quantity) and the changes in speed, in settings, hitches and stops. They report staffing and production related issues and resulting action points on the team meetings.
Tasks:
- Organizes the distribution of tasks within the team, steers and coaches the workers and carries out regular checks
- Continuously solving operational problems, with or without consultation of the Production Manager
- Performs operational activities when the production process requires it
- Ensures that the production and quality requirements are continuously achieved and improved in order to produce and pack the products that meets the minimum expectations of our customer
- Ensures that the companys proposed targets are achieved. By that, they take the necessary spontaneous initiatives and treats and assesses the initiatives made by their staff, in consultation with the Production Manager.
- Supervises the correct handling and processing of the basic raw materials in order the guarantee a qualitative product and a correct stock.
- Ensures a smooth collaboration and communication with colleagues in other departments
- Reports proactively technical defects to the Technical Manager so that the machinery is continuously working in an optimal way.
- The foreman can decide not to run production after a check or in the absence of the necessary information or resources.
Safety, 5S and cleanliness:
- Avoid work accidents and work incidents so that severity and frequency figures can be reduced to zero through:
o The coordination and implementation of proposals for improvements
o Informing about and enforcing staff to comply with the current safety rules
o Effective control on the compliance of people to the prescribed work uniforms and safety shoes
- Ensuring that the plant 5S program is a high priority and is well adhered to among the production staff.
- Monitoring and regularly checking the order and cleanliness within the own department in order to create a motivating work environment for all workers
- Ensure that the waste policy is followed up by the team so to minimize the waste flows
Personnel:
- Continuously evaluates and assesses the performance of the workers in the team with the aim to have thoroughly trained, loyal, satisfied and skilled workers
- Evaluate and follow-up the continuity of the staffing in consultation with the Production Manager (including monitoring absences, irregularities)
- Responsible for the start-up and follow-up of the training of new employees
Qualifications:
High School Diploma preferably a Bachelor degree and have a minimum of 10
years of experience in a production environment. You have at least several years of experience in the operation of production machinery and monitoring of products.
- You have at least several years experience in a leadership role (preferably in a similar business).
- You have a good technical knowledge and have basic computer skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
