Public Works Manager

Under general direction from the Community Director, the Public Works Manager is responsible for planning, directing, managing and overseeing the activities and operations of the Public Works division; coordinating assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies;and providing highly responsible and complex support to the Community Development Director.
Essential Function Statement:
Essential responsibilities and duties may include, but not limited to, the following:
Assumes full management responsibility for all Public Works division and activities, facility management, fleet management Plans, manages and oversees the daily functions, operations and activities of assigned public works functional areas including streets, sidewalks, storm water & drainage systems, street sweeping, traffic signage and striping, fleet, parks and building maintenance.
Participates in the development and administration of Public Works budget; approves the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies.
Meets with key staff to identify and resolve problems; Represents the Public Works department to other divisions and departments, elected officials and outside agencies; coordinates assigned actives with those other departments and outside agencies and organizations; attends meetings, and provides staff support to a variety of boards, commissions, communities, and task forces; prepares and presents staff reports and other necessary correspondence as necessary; negotiates and resolves significant controversial issues.
Knowledge And Abilities:
Operation, services and activities of a comprehensive public works program including planning, development, design, construction, operations and maintenance; Principles and practices of program development and administration; Methods and techniques of sewage collection, treatment and disposal; Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation; and Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations.
Able to manage and direct a comprehensive public works program; Analyze and assess programs, polices and operational needs and make appropriate adjustments; Interpret and apply applicable Federal, State and local policies, laws and regulations; Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
