Dental Hygienist
Jamaica and Glen Oaks Dental Professionals are seeking 2 Dental Hygienists to work in our Glen Oaks, Queens and Jamaica, Queens locations. Reporting directly to the Managing Doctor, the Dental Hygienist performs a variety of patient care duties such as soft-tissue evaluation, providing, managing soft-tissue care, alerting doctors to patient care needs, and educating patient on proper home care.
Responsibilities
Provides soft-tissue treatment when necessary
Refers patients to periodontist for additional treatment when necessary
Greets patients and escorts them to appropriate exam room
Maintains accurate and complete dental records including periodontol probings
Provides leadership to dental assistants in maintaining supplies, instruments, and dental records
Maintains an effective recall system including making appointments for patients, having patients fill out postcards, and developing strong relationships with patients.
Greets visitors and patients in a courteous, prompt and friendly manner
Determines patient needs and gives appropriate information
Responds to patient inquiries on a daily basis
Requirements
Dental Hygiene licensure
High School Diploma or GED
Superior customer service skills and experience
Flexible and solutions driven
Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement
Outstanding verbal and written communications, with a culturally diverse patient and staff population
