Early Intervention Specialist


DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for providing the educational component for children in the Early Intervention Program, as well as supporting the objectives of the Early Intervention team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
o Perform developmental evaluations, normally in the child's natural environment.
o Coordinate an interdisciplinary approach to promote success for the child and his/her family.
o Provide in-service trainings.
o Participate in staffings.
o Analyze materials and equipment used in the education process.
o Use agency systems and tools provided to work effectively and efficiently.
o Performs duties of the Early Intervention Service Coordinator position.
o Support regulatory compliance.
o Other duties as assigned.
SPECIFICATION
Knowledge
o B.A. Education; certification in Early Childhood Special Education.
o State (DPI) licensing 808, 809 or equivalent.
Skills
o Develops and implements therapy plans for children.
o Effectively use MS Office(TM), Vertex(TM), and similar or related agency systems as required.
o Instructs parents / caregivers in cares which will enhance the child's development.
Abilities
o Ability to work with families in a sensitive and respectful manner.
o Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
o Productive and supportive member of team and agency-wide initiatives.
o Unwavering respect for clients, families, and the agency's mission.
o Bilingual speech (English / Spanish) desirable.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
o Successful implementation of care plans / IFSPs.
o Accountable for client, caregiver, and customer satisfaction with GVE's services.
RELATIONSHIPS
o Reports to Early Intervention Manager.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
