JOB TITLE: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
REPORTS TO:
Director of Consulting and Outpatient Services
Coach of Behavioral Health, Endocrinology and Nephrology

POSITION
Summary:
Work in collaboration with physicians and other providers to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate behavioral health care for patients in the outpatient setting. Ordering and interpreting appropriate labs and special studies. Establish a working diagnosis based upon acquired data and developing or following treatment plan for psychiatric conditions in accordance with current clinic practice and in conjunction with the psychiatrists and psychotherapists. Exercise judgment on condition requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising physician or other healthcare professionals. Provide staff and patient education.

Primary duties to include: Diagnosing psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions based on DSM V and/or ICD 9/10. Distinguishing between physiologically and psychologically based disorders and diagnose appropriately. Assessing patients' mental and physical status based on the presenting symptoms and complaints. Conducting individual, group or family psychoeducation for those with chronic or acute mental disorders. Monitoring patients' medication usage and results. Educating patients and collateral supports about mental health and medical conditions, preventative health measures, medications and treatment plans. Documenting patients' medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions and outcomes. Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members including psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists and nursing staff, to develop, implement or evaluate treatment plans. Writing prescriptions for psychotropic medications as allowed by the state of Wisconsin regulations and collaborative practice agreements.

EDUCATION:
MSN or DNP granted by a college or university approved by the Board of Nursing.
Experience:
Prefer an NP with previous psychiatric patient care experience. For recent graduates, psychiatric practicum or capstone required. Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of license.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Registered Nurse and APNP (Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber or eligible) in the State of Wisconsin. BLS Certification.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
