We have an immediate need for a nurse/ IV Infusion Specialist to work with one of our clients here in Mobile Alabama. This position will report directly the Director of Nursing. You will be working on a two week on two week off schedule. You will also be required to be on call two weekends a month( this is subject to change)
Our ideal candidate would possess a passion for working with people. In this role you would be working with pediatrics. These are kids with blood disorders so the role is not just technical but also a role of compassion.
You would be required to travel the territory to meet up with patients at home and school and will be provided a company vehicle for that purpose.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Must have the ability to explain procedures and treatments to patient and/or caregiver to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension
Maintains an awareness of the patients comfort and safety needs.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
Observes patient records, significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patients condition and reaction to drugs, treatments.
Consistently take temperature, pulse, blood pressure and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal.
Responsible for reporting any significant changes and findings to the Director of Nursing and Physician.
Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocol.
Documents nursing history and physical assessments for assigned patients.
Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocol.
Responds in a timely manner to calls during working hours and while on-call.
Makes telephone call the next day after treatment of PRN visit. Continues to call until contact made with patient/caregiver and decision made that no return visit needed.
Does clear and conscise documentation on all calls and visits related to assigned patients.
Helps plan and organize activities related to specific clinical services to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with professional standards of medical and nursing care.
Consults with Director of Nursing or Corporate Director of Nursing on patient care or nursing problems and interpretation of policies and procedures to ensure patient needs are met.
Provides in-service training for patient's, caregiver's, family members, etc.
Controls cost to maintain expenditures within allocations.
Takes on-call two weeks on, one week off and is if flexible when needed
Job Requirements:
We are seeking someone with GREAT Analytical, Technical, and Problem Solving skills. Must have a heart for helping other and excellent Patient Care.
This role requires that you have the ability to manage difficult or emotional patient situations.
You must have at least 3-5 years of patient care and have some exposure to (Pediatrics)
Must be a Good Stick and have patience and the ability to put the patient at ease when treating them
Must have a minimum of an Associates Degree from a two-year nursing college.
IV infusion experience is a MUST
Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Will be required to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, caregive's, physicians, nurses, schoolteachers, principals and general public.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Current CPR , (infant, child, and adult)
Current Registered Nursing license in the states of Alabama and Florida
Current Driver's License in residential state and proof of insurance for vehicle used to and from work
Registrations- Automobile must be current
